GTA 6 PC System Requirements

GTA 6 PC System Requirements (Speculated)

GTA 6 is coming, and if you're a PC player, you're probably already wondering if your setup can handle it. Because we've all been there. A big game drops, you fire it up, and your PC just struggles. We are sure you don't want that to happen with GTA 6. So let's talk about the predicted GTA 6 PC system requirements and figure out if your setup is ready before the game even launches.

Are the GTA 6 PC Requirements Official?

Not yet. Rockstar Games hasn't released any official specs. What we have right now are predictions based on how the game looks, what consoles it's launching on, and how GTA 5's requirements scaled over the years.

GTA 6 System Requirements

Here's a clean look at what you'll likely need to run the game:

ComponentMinimumRecommended
OSWindows 11Windows 11
CPUIntel Core i5-9600K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600Intel Core i9-10900K / AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
RAM16GB32GB
GPUNVIDIA RTX 3060 / AMD RX 6600 XT (8GB VRAM)NVIDIA RTX 3080 / AMD RX 6800 XT (16GB VRAM)
Storage150GB SSD150GB DirectStorage-compatible SSD
AudioDirectX 10 compatibleDolby Atmos support

GTA 5 ran on a GTX 660 with 4GB of RAM back in the day. Now the minimum for GTA 6 is an RTX 3060 and 16GB of RAM. That's a big jump, but not surprising given how much better the game looks.

Why Is GTA 6 So Demanding?

GTA 6 is built for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S from the ground up. Both consoles have fast SSDs and modern GPUs. When the game eventually comes to PC, Rockstar will likely push things even further to support mods, higher resolutions, and features like ray tracing.

That 150GB SSD requirement is something to take seriously. The world in GTA 6 is huge, and a regular old hard drive just won't keep up. You'll want a decent SSD to avoid stuttering and slow load times.

Should You Upgrade Your PC Now?

If your GPU is older than an RTX 20 series or an RX 5000 series AMD card, you'll probably need an upgrade. But you don't have to go all out right now. An RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT should be enough to run the game at decent settings.

Want smooth 60fps at high settings? Then you're looking at the recommended tier, which means an RTX 3080, 32GB of RAM, and a faster NVMe SSD. With this, you will play as Jason and Lucia, the protagonists, with the best experience.

When Will GTA 6 Come to PC?

GTA 6 is currently confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with a release date of November 19th, 2026. A PC version hasn't been officially announced, but Rockstar always brings their games to PC eventually. GTA 5 launched on consoles first and hit PC about a year and a half later, so expect a similar timeline for GTA 6.

Start saving now. When GTA 6 finally lands on PC, you'll want to be ready for it!
